Growing up in the bay area Rachel discovered her love for gardening, knitting, and cooking meals from scratch when visiting her aunt who had a small Ranch in Watsonville. It has always been a dream for her to have beautiful gardens to grow most of her food.
She has always been very passionate about doing things herself such as remodelling her home, preserving food, sewing, soap making, etc. Rachel joined The Urban Edge Farm while exploring her new community in Brentwood where she now homesteads on a half acre with her husband and 4 children. She has been invested in the importance of organic and sustainable food, and enjoys the pleasure that comes from being able to provide her family with food, and essentials right from her back yard.
She joined The Urban Edge Farm, excited to gain a new skill in milking goats, using the milk for feeding her family and soap making. Joining The Urban Edge Farm team was an opportunity she couldn’t pass up, connecting with like minded people. Rachel has become an asset with her previous administrative skills and extensive knowledge about farming and homesteading.
